About me

I am a researcher and writer specializing in issues related to competition and antitrust, with a particular focus on the dynamics of digital markets and regulatory frameworks. My research interests span technology regulation, digital platform studies, market concentration, ecosystem dependencies, and digital privacy, with a focus on Europe and the UK. I have contributed extensively to Tech Policy Press, including a detailed exploration of the rollout and implications of Europe’s Digital Markets Act, the UK's Digital Markets, Competition, and Consumers Act, as well as significant digital competition cases. I was a 2025 reporting fellow for the publication, and expanded my coverage to follow the UK government's push for investment from US Big Tech, and the way that the UK is cementing its reliance on dominant players. I also published a mini-series looking at Nvidia, analyzing how the company has maintained its dominance in the AI industry, and how this concentrated power gives the company a dangerous shield against regulatory scrutiny through its immense political power.

Beyond my work with Tech Policy Press, I have also done independent research projects. I conducted an empirical study evaluating the compliance of Digital Markets Act gatekeepers, Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, ByteDance, Meta, and Microsoft, with Article 6(9) of the legislation, which mandates real-time and continuous data portability of end-users’ data with authorised third parties. This study was later presented in Brussels to an audience of regulators and academics. Following this, I worked with the non-profit group, the Coalition for Online Data Empowerment, to continue this evaluation and bring gatekeeper compliance to the attention of regulators. Separately, I was commissioned to write a position paper for the digital rights group, Open Rights Group, to campaign for mandated interoperability of social media platforms to introduce competition and break both market concentration and harmful business models. Most recently, I have been commissioned to write a white paper analysing UK dependencies on Big Tech platforms and services across government and critical infrastructure to advocate the case for pursuing tech sovereignty.

I hold an MA in Digital Culture and Society from King’s College London, where I examined the social, political, and economic implications of communication technologies and emerging innovations such as artificial intelligence. Following my studies, I interned as a research and advocacy assistant at The Civil Liberties Union for Europe. I am based in London where I am available for freelance projects.
